LMG Construction was founded by Lisa Garney, a lawyer and certified master plumber, founded LMG Construction in 2007. As the daughter and granddaughter of master plumbers, the construction business always played a big role in her life. She drew from her legal, real estate development, and project management experience to return to her family roots in commercial plumbing and general construction.
“Putting people to work by providing employment. Also, I’m proud to operate a small business that’s woman-owned. There are not many women in the construction industry, so I think it’s an accomplishment for women in business—not just construction—because it’s not easy owning a business.”
LMG Construction is certified in the U.S. Small Business Administration’s (SBA) HUBZone program. The Historically Underutilized Business Zones (HUBZone) program helps small businesses located in distressed urban and rural communities gain access to federal set-aside contracts and sole source contracts, as well as a price evaluation preference in full and open contract competitions. Through the HUBZone program, LMG Construction has acquired over $40M in contract opportunities and support.
